Job Description

Gameday Digital Media Intern Position Overview The Des Moines Buccaneers are seeking a creative and energetic Gameday Digital Media Intern to assist with content creation during home games throughout the season. This position will play a key role in capturing engaging photo and video content from around the arena, helping bring the Buccaneers game day experience to life across social media platforms. Responsibilities Capture photo and video content during Buccaneers home games, including: o On-ice action o Fan experiences o In-game promotions and entertainment o Sponsor activations o Theme nights and special events o Behind-the-scenes moments Identify and capture social-first content opportunities in real time. Work alongside the Digital Media Coordinator to execute game day content plans. Assist with gathering content for Instagram Stories, Reels, TikTok, X, Facebook, and other digital platforms. Help ensure key game moments, fan interactions, and promotional activities are documented. Organize and upload content following games as needed. Contribute creative ideas for game day content and fan engagement. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a college or university program majoring in sports media, communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field. Strong interest in sports, social media, and content creation. Ability to work all Des Moines Buccaneers home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live event environment. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while taking initiative to identify content opportunities. Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate as part of a team. Preferred Skills Basic knowledge of social media trends and short-form content. Experience with sports content production. Knowledge of hockey is not required, but is a plus. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar editing software. What You'll Gain Hands-on experience creating content for a Tier I junior hockey organization.
