Job Description
Overview December Thieves, a growing and constantly evolving fashion and design focused retail concept, is looking for a talented creative to help translate our in-store brand experience to our social media platforms (@decemberthieves) and decemberthieves.com in order to keep our website updated and our social media followers engaged. The ideal candidate is a plug and play organized and creative professional who can work closely with our owner and the Ecommerce Coordinator to plan and execute on-brand content to capture the essence of the cultivated, globally sourced, slow fashion nature of our products, our beautiful Beacon Hill neighborhood and storefront, and the personalities of the special team of individuals behind the scenes. Must love fashion and have an impeccable eye for design. This role is not the right fit for people who have only had corporate experience and have not worked with design-oriented and highly aesthetic clients. You will be responsible for executing the daily social media operations across various platforms, enhancing brand visibility, and engaging with our audience. This role requires excellent time management and communication skills, creativity, and a strong understanding of social media trends and analytics. This is an in-person part-time position with a time commitment of 2+ days/week. Days of the week can be flexible but consistency is preferred and candidate must be available as necessary for posting content.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Scheduling :
develop, curate, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) to maintain a consistent and dynamic presence. Work closely with the owner and the Ecommerce Coordinator to develop social media strategies that align with overall marketing goals and objectives. Assist in writing copy and creating multimedia content (photos/videos). Schedule weekly photoshoots to build an archive or images to freshen our website.Community Engagement:
actively engage with our local and global followers. Build and maintain relationships with influencers, partners and design and business community members. Scout models for photoshoots and instagram reels.Social Media Monitoring and Reporting:
monitor social media trends, competitor activity and industry news to keep content fresh and relevant. Track key metrics for reporting and analysis.Qualifications and Skills:
1-2 years of experience managing social media accounts, ideally in a small business setting and ideally with a retail business. A keen eye for design, fashion and the ability to produce highly aesthetic content. You will be asked to produce some sample content on-site as part of the interview process. Hands-on experience with social media platforms, content creation, and scheduling tools. Strong understanding of social media best practices and analytics. Strong organizational, communication and time management skills- very important Proficiency with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) and video editing software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to think outside the box and pivot with the demands of a fast-paced retail business. A good eye, photo skills and the technology needed to execute. Excellent written communication, grammar, and proofreading skills. A strong eye for design and attention to detail. A love for fashion and small businesses and a desire to be part of a small, kind, inclusive team of people.To Apply:
