Job Description

Part‑Time Marketing & Social Media Coordinator (Lasorda Way App + Kids First)
Department:
 The Lasorda Way - Steel Sports Coaching System 
Duration:
 14‑week position
Time Commitment:
 6-8 hours/week
Compensation:
 $20/hour (approx. $120-$160/week) Role Purpose Drive awareness, adoption, and engagement of The Lasorda Way App, while supporting promotion/registration for Kids First Camps and Kids First Festivals, plus internal employee engagement tied to the Coaching Sponsorship Program. Key Responsibilities Turn approved messaging into weekly social + internal content; spotlight app sections and run simple monthly themes.
Execute Kids First Camps/Festivals promotion:
posts, captions, story frames, promo kits, and coordination with event owners.
Support employee engagement:
sponsorship program promos, short spotlights, and basic monthly engagement tracking. Deliverables Monthly lightweight content calendar + monthly internal engagement recap. Event‑specific social posts aligned to the Kids First SOP. About Steel Sports Steel Sports is a Social Impact organization, located in ten (10) different regions from coast to coast. Our mission is to inspire youth to reach their potential, on and off the field, by developing them as athletes and people through the Steel Sports coaching system, "The Lasorda Way". Through its "kids first" approach, Steel Sports is establishing the Steel standard in youth sports and coaching, forging the next generation of leaders by instilling Steel Sports' core values: Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, and Commitment. Strong short‑form writing and editing for social captions + internal announcements Experience scheduling/publishing content across major social platforms (and working from an approved message library) Comfortable creating lightweight assets (simple graphics, story frames, promo kits) Organized, responsive, and able to coordinate details with multiple event owners Able to track basic performance signals and summarize takeaways monthly
