Casual \/ On Call The Social Media Specialist works under the supervision of the Social Media Manager or another leadership member who is appropriate for the scope of work that will be carried out. This supervision may be through a matrixed or direct reporting structure. This role supports the social media strategy, which could be inclusive of monitoring and responding, crisis and issues response, brand building using relevant and targeted social content, and social advertising, in addition to creative content across channels. The position will be responsible for evaluating, optimizing, and reporting on their efforts. This position will know of and follow best practices around social media, and will work across platforms intended for social content creation, reputation, crisis management, and brand building.
Education:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
Required Work Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in an earned, owned, and paid social media role is required. Beginner experience and knowledge of creative editing, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design tools. Beginner analytics skills and ability to cultivate metrics and identify meaningful trends. Ability to produce reports, including narrative and visual elements. Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and an ability to write clear, concise copy. Articulate and excellent speaker with strong presentation skills.
Beginner skills in use of:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat. Moderate understanding of the quickly evolving, organic social media environment and demonstrated ability to manage a well-established and large social media presence. Beginner knowledge of social design, including placement of social icons, creation of social visuals, sizing of images for each channel, etc. Strong understanding of all social platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, and TikTok. Beginner knowledge and experience using content management systems, social media management, and listening tools, and related web applications. Understanding of the entire digital ecosystem and how social and reputation management fit in.
Salary Range:
Minimum $26.50/hour - $43.50/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
