The Social Media Lead is a key leadership role responsible for translating social strategy into day-to-day execution across multiple accounts. This person ensures our content is not only platform-first and insight-driven but also aligned to business goals and client expectations. As a subject matter expert, the Social Media Lead guides content development, partners on social strategy, leads reporting narratives and nurtures junior talent. Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight & Content Direction Own content vision and content calendars across assigned clients, ensuring creative consistency and audience relevance Lead content brainstorms and brief development in partnership with Creative and Strategy disciplines Translate client goals and KPIs into actionable editorial and engagement strategies Platform & Performance Mastery Act as the lead platform expert on assigned accounts, guiding best practices and content innovation Serve as the escalation point for complex engagement scenarios or sensitive community management issues Collaborate with Strategy partners to turn social data into meaningful narrative arcs, showing how content drives business impact Client & Cross-Team Collaboration Present work to clients with confidence, clarity, and strategic depth Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all content is aligned with brand and campaign strategy Proactively identify content gaps, engagement opportunities, and creative risks worth taking Mentorship & Team Development Provide coaching and support to Social Media Managers and Associate Leads Lead internal reviews of content calendars, posts, and reports Share POVs, thought leadership, and trend intel with clients and the broader agency team Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing or related communications field 5+ years experience in a social, marketing, or communications role Agency experience preferred Strong communication skills - both verbal and written Prior social listening experience and comfort working with social listening tools Prior experience in navigating a social strategy process from insight-finding to content production Brings curiosity and the urge to explore what's next in the industry Well organized, strong time management and prioritization skills Able to maintain confidentiality with business relations, personnel matters, and proprietary matters Proficient in the Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite and Slack Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Voluntary Vision Insurance HSA + Company Contribution 401k + Company Match Generous PTO Policy New Macbook Pro Cell Phone Stipend Paid Employee Parking Dog-Friendly Office About The Social Lights
