Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Public Relations and Social Media Assistant to support marketing efforts for our animal hospital(s). This role is ideal for someone with experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or the veterinary field who wants hands-on experience creating content, supporting brand growth, and helping connect pet owners with high-quality veterinary care. The Digital Media and Public Relations Assistant will help develop and manage social media content, assist with digital marketing initiatives, support community outreach, and help maintain a consistent and engaging online presence across platforms. This position offers an opportunity to build real-world experience in content creation, brand marketing, and healthcare-related communications. Responsibilities Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Capture photos and videos in hospital settings for use in social media, marketing campaigns, and internal communications. Write clear, engaging captions, and promotional content aligned with the brand voice. Support development of monthly content calendars and campaign ideas. Monitor social media engagement and help respond to comments, messages, and audience interactions as appropriate. Developing promotional items along basic graphic design projects using platforms such as Canva or similar tools. Help promote hospital services, seasonal campaigns, team highlights, community events, and educational content. Support marketing projects across multiple animal hospitals, if applicable. Assist with email marketing, website updates, blog content, or digital newsletters as needed. Track performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and follower growth, and help prepare simple reports. Help ensure branding and messaging remain consistent across marketing channels. Attend community outreach efforts, local partnerships, and event promotion when needed. Qualifications Current college student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Interest in social media marketing, content creation, and brand development. Comfortable creating short-form content for digital platforms. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects. Genuine interest in animals, veterinary medicine, or healthcare marketing preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design/video tools. Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and social media scheduling tools. Experience with photography, videography, or editing content for social media. Basic understanding of analytics and social media performance metrics. Previous internship, campus organization, freelance, or volunteer marketing experience preferred but not required. $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
