DMV Metro Area Reports To:
Founder Before We Get Into the Job... BOYSICK hasn't launched yet. That's exactly why this role exists. We're looking for someone to help us make noise before launch, build momentum leading up to launch, and help turn a brand that's currently being built behind the scenes into something people can't stop talking about. If you're looking for a company where everything is already figured out, there are documented processes for everything, and your job is simply to keep the machine running, this probably isn't the role for you. If you're excited by helping build the machine, keep reading. About
BOYSICK BOYSICK
is a queer lifestyle brand inspired by attraction, nightlife, internet culture, and the experiences that come with being queer. We're building something that sits at the intersection of fashion, culture, community, and storytelling. Yes, we sell products. But we're not trying to build just another clothing brand. We're trying to build a brand people identify with. A brand people see themselves in. A brand people send to their friends and say: "This is so us." And if we do our jobs right, a brand that becomes a recognizable part of queer culture. We're still early. Very early. Which means you'll be joining at the stage where ideas become campaigns, campaigns become customers, and customers become a community. The stage where every post matters. Every launch matters. Every customer matters. And honestly? We think that's the fun part. The Opportunity A lot of companies hire someone to manage their social media. That's not what this is. We're looking for someone to help us introduce BOYSICK to the world. A huge part of this role will be helping us go from: "Nobody knows who BOYSICK is." to "Wait... have you heard of BOYSICK?" You'll help build awareness. You'll help generate curiosity. You'll help create conversations. You'll help build community. You'll help support launches. You'll help create momentum. And you'll help turn that momentum into customers. Because at the end of the day, we're not just trying to get attention. We're trying to build a business. What You'll Do Social Media & Content Manage BOYSICK's social media channels Build and maintain content calendars Schedule and publish content across platforms Write captions, posts, community content, and launch messaging Identify trends, conversations, memes, and cultural moments relevant to the brand Work directly with the founder to develop content ideas, campaign concepts, and launch strategies Help bring creative ideas to life Community & Growth Engage with followers, customers, creators, and community members Respond to comments, DMs, mentions, and conversations Build relationships with creators, photographers, models, and potential collaborators Identify opportunities to increase awareness of the brand Help grow BOYSICK's audience across platforms Help turn attention into traffic and traffic into customers Launches & Campaigns Help generate buzz leading up to launch Support product launches and campaign rollouts Coordinate content and deliverables across campaigns Assist with photoshoots, creator partnerships, and brand activations Track performance and identify what's working, what's not, and where we should double down Bring ideas for future campaigns, launches, and growth opportunities What We're Looking For We're less interested in where you've worked and more interested in what you've built. You might be a great fit if: You're chronically online You understand queer culture beyond the surface level You somehow know what's happening online before everyone else does You have strong instincts for what people will share, repost, screenshot, and talk about You've grown an account, community, fan page, creator page, meme page, Discord server, or something similar You understand that marketing isn't just about making things look good, it's about getting people to care You're comfortable walking into a blank space and helping create structure You know how to ask good questions when the answer doesn't already exist You can take a rough idea and turn it into something real You're excited about helping build something from the ground up Bonus points if you've: Worked with creators or influencers Helped launch a brand, project, product, event, or community Created content yourself Worked in fashion, nightlife, media, entertainment, hospitality, or creator-focused industries Have an unhealthy screen time average What Success Looks Like Let's get one thing out of the way: This isn't a role where success is measured by how many posts you publish. Or how many graphics you create. Or how many trends you manage to jump on. Success is measured by your ability to help grow the brand.
That means:
Building awareness before launch Growing our community Driving traffic to our website Generating excitement around campaigns and launches Creating content people actually share Helping convert attention into customers Contributing to revenue growth We love good branding. We love good storytelling. We love beautiful creative. But at the end of the day, we're building a business. The best marketing doesn't just look good. It works. Why This Role Is Different Most people join companies after they're already established. This is an opportunity to help shape what BOYSICK becomes. You'll work directly with the founder. You'll have a seat at the table. You'll help influence campaigns, content, community, culture, and growth. And if we do our jobs right, you'll be able to say you were here before everyone else knew about it.
To Apply Send us:
Your resume Links to any social accounts, communities, projects, brands, pages, or content you've managed or helped grow A portfolio (if you have one) A few sentences about why BOYSICK caught your attention We're far more interested in what you've built than what your resume says. Interview Process We like to move quickly. Step 1: Application Review We'll review your application, resume, and any examples of your work. Step 2: Intro Conversation A casual 30-minute conversation with the founder. We'll talk about your background, what corners of the internet you spend time in, what you've built, and how you think about culture, community, content, growth, and marketing. Step 3: Working Session This isn't a presentation. And it's not homework. We'll spend time working through a real challenge, campaign, idea, or project together. The goal isn't to see whether you have all the answers. The goal is to understand how you think, how you collaborate, how you approach ambiguity, and what it would actually feel like to work together. Because if we're doing this right, we'll be spending a lot of time building things together. Step 4: Decision If it feels like a fit on both sides, we'll move forward. The entire process typically takes 1-2 weeks.
