Social Media and HR Intern

Houston, TX Houston applicants only. This is a hybrid role based near the Galleria area in Houston, TX The Social Media & HR Intern provides direct support to NorthStar Memorial Group's Human Resources Department. This role supports social media content creation, community engagement, internal communications, and digital asset organization, while also assisting with HR document management and administrative tasks. The intern will gain practical experience in employer branding, corporate communications, and HR processes.Responsibilities:
Support social media community management across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook by monitoring engagement and assisting with responses to comments, messages, and inquiries. Assist in the creation, organization, and scheduling of social media content, including stories, graphics, and other visual assets that support recruitment marketing and employer brand initiatives. Research and summarize social media trends, AI tools, and marketing updates to inform content planning and enhance digital strategy. Organize and maintain Canva templates, brand assets, and communication materials to ensure consistency and accessibility for the marketing and HR teams. Support the development and organization of Optisign digital signage templates used for employee communications, announcements, and internal office displays across company locations. Assist HR with document management tasks, including scanning, organizing, and uploading confidential personnel documents into HR systems under supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Qualifications:
Demonstrates strong knowledge of major social media platforms, digital trends, and content strategy, with the ability to create engaging, platform-appropriate content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and similar channels. Experience designing polished, on-brand graphics and visual content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools, with an understanding of layout, typography, branding, and social-first design principles. Exhibits strong organizational, communication, and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
