Job Description:
The Graduate Assistant for the Oral History Association (OHA) works closely with the OHA Program Associate to advance the OHA Executive Office's goals in developing their social media accounts and is primarily responsible for tasks related to graphic design and publicity. This position manages day-to-day content creation, scheduling, and regular interactions with followers on all social media platforms. The graduate assistant will also be asked to complete tasks related to website maintenance, membership management, and other administrative tasks as needed. This position requires one week of travel to the OHA Annual Meeting to aid in the running of the conference (including managing the registration table, assisting vendors and oordinating volunteers) each October.
Requirements:
Enrollment in a Graduate Program at Baylor University Organizational and verbal communication skills Proficiency with using social media platforms, preferably for business applications. Ability to write and edit copy effective for various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X Proficiency with content creation across social media platforms, printed materials, signage, websites, and other media Familiarity with productivity software such as Bitly, Box, Linktree, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Canva Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Meta Business Suite are a plus
