Job Description

BCBST is hiring an Agent Relations Consultant. We're looking for a results-driven professional who excels in building high-impact broker and agent relationships, with a strong focus on measurable growth, compliance, and market effectiveness across Individual and Medicare products. In this role, you'll drive outcomes by expanding product adoption, increasing enrollment, and strengthening broker/agent partnerships. You will serve as the primary liaison for brokers and agents, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and systems needed to generate leads, convert opportunities, and maintain compliance with related regulations. You'll also orchestrate seamless agent contracting processes, ensuring every detail aligns for smooth execution. Success in this role means consistently improving broker/agent productivity, increasing enrollment rates, maintaining audit-ready compliance standards, and delivering training initiatives that result in measurable performance gains. Note:
  • This is a remote role with daily travel within assigned region, including BCBST's headquarters in Chattanooga.

Job Responsibilities Support and sell BCBST Individual and Medicare group health products to groups, individuals and/or their broker/agent. Serve as primary resource contact and liaison for the broker/agent on Government individual products. Provide ongoing education to the broker/agent assigned and distribute materials. Develop and implement quarterly training and annual credentialing for all Medicare Advantage agents. Coordinate agent contracting documents from both agencies and individual agents. Maintain a working knowledge of CMS regulations, COBRA, HIPAA, etc. and other issues affecting groups, Individual and Government products. Train broker/agent on lead and enrollment systems. Some travel is required. Job Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment. Experience 3 years - Experience in broker relations, sales and/or account management required. Skills\Certifications Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability. Outstanding negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Accuracy and attention to detail Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated knowledge of contracts, products, networks, underwriting, billing, claims processing procedures and use of a broker distribution system. Must possess personal and professional skills to manage broker relationships through needs assessment, benefit and rate analysis, product presentation and negotiation.
