Job Description

Job Profile The Massage Therapist provides professional massage and body treatments to spa guests. This role requires thorough knowledge of multiple massage modalities and general knowledge of body treatments, including scrubs and wraps. The Massage Therapist must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to learn product and service knowledge to effectively recommend wellness solutions that meet guest needs. Duties and Responsibilities This job description does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed. Team members may be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned by their supervisor. Arrive on time for shifts, remain prompt for all appointments, and perform services within the allotted time. Provide consistent, professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and certification standards. Educate guests on wellness concerns, treatments, and recommended services. Maintain flexibility in scheduling to support spa operational needs. Properly care for equipment and use products efficiently to support cost controls. Maintain complete knowledge of all spa services and retail products. Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards in compliance with state law and Ayres policies and procedures. Maintain service quality in alignment with AAA Four Diamond standards. Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of spa operations. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed. Outstanding guest service skills with a professional appearance. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong listening skills with the ability to understand and resolve guest concerns. Excellent cleanliness, sanitation, and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently and productively under pressure. Enthusiastic, service-oriented, and guest-focused. Friendly, outgoing personality and ability to work well with others. Proficient communication, listening, and basic computer skills. Team-oriented mindset. Keep supervisors informed of any issues or situations requiring attention. Perform preparation duties, properly clean, and restock treatment rooms as required. Communicate all staff

Actively promote spa treatments, services, retail products, programs, promotions, and discounts. Address guest questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Provide accurate, timely, and appropriate responses to guest requests. Work independently with minimal supervision when required. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a high-quality work environment. Attend and participate in spa and hotel training sessions and staff meetings. Assist in all areas of spa operations as requested by management. Education and Experience Current California Massage Therapy Certification required. Ability to read, write, and communicate basic information in English. Multilingual abilities preferred. Minimum 1 year of spa experience preferred. Minimum 2 years of hospitality and customer service experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to perform repetitive movements of arms, hands, and wrists. Ability to communicate verbally and hear clearly. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including working with hands above shoulder level. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, or balance items up to 50 pounds. Ability to twist and turn body parts in circular motions. Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, noise, and varying work environments.
