Massage Therapist for Ayurvedic Center

Setu Vermont is seeking a skilled, grounded, and compassionate massage therapist to join our growing Ayurvedic retreat and wellness center in Brattleboro, Vermont. This role is ideal for someone who loves hands‑on healing work, is excited by Ayurveda, and wants to grow with a center that is developing its Panchakarma and bodywork offerings over time. The core of this role is providing beautiful, professional Abhyanga and related bodywork sessions in a calm, client‑centered environment. It is also a strong fit for someone who enjoys being part of a small team and contributing to guest experience and spa operations beyond direct treatment time. About the role This position is centered around Ayurvedic oil massage and bodywork. Candidates with training in Abhyanga are especially encouraged to apply. Panchakarma support experience, Shirodhara training, Ayurvedic facial skills, or other Ayurvedic bodywork experience are all a plus, but not required. Setu is open to the right therapist who has a strong massage foundation, excellent presence with clients, and a sincere interest in growing into a more specialized Ayurvedic role. Compensation and schedule Part‑time weekend role with a consistent weekly schedule. Starting weekly minimum earnings of around $350 dollars per week, with the potential to earn $500-600 dollars or more on busier weeks, including tips. Details of session rates, non‑client hours, and growth opportunities will be discussed in the interview. Responsibilities Provide 45‑ to 90‑minute Abhyanga and related bodywork sessions by appointment. Create a warm, attentive, and therapeutic client experience before, during, and after treatment. Assess clients within the scope of practice and adapt pressure, pace, and technique appropriately. Prepare, reset, and maintain treatment rooms and supplies to Setu standards. Support non‑client projects during slower periods, such as spa readiness, treatment‑flow improvements, client‑education support, and other operational needs. Communicate professionally with clients and team members and contribute to a calm, collaborative work environment. Qualifications Completion of an accredited massage therapy program. Massage therapy license preferred; applicants in process may be considered depending on fit Training in Abhyanga, Asian bodywork, Ayurveda, or related modalities is strongly preferred. Panchakarma experience, Shirodhara training, Ayurvedic facials, or other Ayurvedic bodywork skills are a bonus. Strong communication skills, professionalism, physical stamina, and attention to detail. Genuine interest in Ayurveda and willingness to grow within a specialized healing environment.
