Job Description
Overview At Aaron Kilman Jewelers, the bench jeweler is one of the most respected positions in the building. We are looking for an experienced Master Bench Jeweler who takes pride in craftmanship, precision, professionalism, and reputation. This is not an entry-level production position. We are seeking a highly skilled jeweler who understands that every repair leaving our store represents decades of customer trust we have built within our community. You are a part of preserving a reputation that has served our community for generations. Details Perform high-quality jewelry repairs included but not limited to; Ring sizing, soldering, stone setting, retipping, rebuilding prongs, rhodium finishing, polishing, torch welding/laser welding, chain repair, restoration work, general repairs and custom modifications. Work closely with sales associates to properly evaluate repairs and communicate realistic timelines and repair expectations. Maintain integrity of gemstones and jewelry during repair processes. Identify structural issues, prior repair concerns, worn settings and hidden damage before work begins. Assist with custom jewelry production and design modifications when needed. Maintain a clean, organized and professional bench environment. Uphold strict quality control standards before any repair is returned to the client. Contribute to a positive, solution-oriented workplace culture. Help mentor and guide newer staff on jewelry construction, repair limitations, and standards to ensure accurate communication between you, the sales associate and the client. Skills & Experience Minimum 5+ years bench jeweler experience is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of:
Stone setting Prong rebuilding Sizing gold, platinum and silver Chain and clasp repair Rhodium/Gold finishing Polishing Head and shank replacement Laser/torch welding Jewelry design Jewelry restoration Ability to work with microscopes, torches, laser equipment, polishing motors and repair tools safely and efficiently. Strong understanding of Diamond and Gemstone handling, identifying common gemstone risks during repair. Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards Experience in a high-volume retail jewelry environment is strongly preferred. Extended hours may be required during peak and holiday times.We value:
