Job Description

MCBRIDE is a premier luxury residential builder specializing in architecturally distinctive custom homes and high-end renovations throughout Northern Michigan. A trusted Northern Michigan company for over 40 years, we have built our reputation on uncompromising quality, refined craftsmanship, and exceptional attention to detail. We are seeking a Master Finish Carpenter who takes pride in precision work and delivering exceptional finished products. Position Summary The Master Finish Carpenter is responsible for the installation and refinement of high-end interior architectural details that define the quality and character of our homes. This includes premium trim packages, custom cabinetry, built-ins, stair systems, and decorative millwork. You will work with exceptional materials, detailed plans, and discerning clients where excellence is the expectation—not the exception. Key Responsibilities
  • Execute high-end finish carpentry and cabinetry installations with exceptional precision and consistency: o Crown molding, baseboards, and casing o Interior doors, jambs and high-end hardware o Custom cabinetry and built-ins o Stair parts (railings, balusters, newel posts) o Wall paneling, beams, ceiling details and feature walls
  • Interpret Architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications with accuracy
  • Maintain perfect reveals, tight joints, flawless alignments, and superior finishes
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other trades
  • Anticipate challenges and proactively resolve details in the field
  • Maintain a clean, organized and professional job site reflective of high-end residential work
  • Identify and address finish carpentry challenges proactively
  • Uphold company standards for craftmanship, safety, and client satisfaction Qualifications
  • 3+ years of advanced finish or trim carpentry experience (luxury residential strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise as a high-end trim carpenter or cabinetry installer
  • Ability to read plans and execute detailed work independently
  • Deep understanding of fine woodworking techniques, tools, and materials
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely on ladders or in tight spaces Preferred Skills
  • Custom millwork and cabinetry installation experience
  • Familiarity with high-end materials and finishes
  • Cabinet leveling, scribing, fitting, and adjustment expertise
  • Strong problem-solving skills and craftsmanship mindset Compensation & Benefits
