ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of deliveries .
- Receive inbound shipments into the company database.
- Maintain receiving logs and paperwork files.
- Maintain stockrooms and loading docks in a well-organized manner.
- Put away received items to the assigned locations.
- Assist with cycle counting materials on hand.
- Assist with the production control planners in the conduct of physical inventories and performing miscellaneous research projects.
- Assemble work order kits and issue materials to the production floor as needed.
- Review inventory of excess and obsolete items and dispose items as needed.
- Prepare items and documents for shipment.
- Contact carriers for pick-up.
- Perform special delivery or pick-up of items as required, validate for proper paperwork and shipment contents. Coordinate with Planning and Customer Service to ensure deadlines are met.
- Follow safety, health and quality requirements and perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform administrative duties in support of shipping and receiving.
- Handle routine questions and communicates with other departments throughout the logistics cycle.
- Assist with establishing sustainable Inventory Control practices at the warehouses.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred or Desired:
- Associate degree in related field and previous leadership training/development.
Required:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically active tasks, including climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or stock room control. Experience in a documented and controlled production process environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, suppliers, and customers at all levels. Knowledge of safety and health regulations, including OSHA, FDA, andISO 9001
quality system requirements. Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks. Familiarity with ERP systems.
