Material Processing TechnicianDIVISION
Custom FabricationREPORTS TO
Material Processing Lead (Custom Fabrication Foreman) Position Summary Operate material processing equipment in preparation for fabricating a wide variety of metal structures from oral directions, sketches, or drawings. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example and creating an environment of trust and teamwork Assist in receiving and storage of incoming materials Operate material processing equipment in preparation for fabrication (cutting, bending, drilling) Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and complete standard records Participates in all requested job-related training and development, as well as taking an active interest in improving skills with other training programs Completes all reports and forms for service operations in a timely and accurate manner Ensures manager is aware of any issues which can impact customer satisfaction or billing Maintains good condition and cleanliness of company vehicles, tools, and equipment, including the return of tools to storage areas Follows all company and common sense safety policies, while using all required personal protective equipment Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed Desired Qualifications Ability to operate metal processing equipment (bandsaw, chop saw, iron worker, drill line, plasma table) Ability to read and understand tape measure Experience in metal material processing and willingness to learn new material processing equipment Weld and fabricate small fixtures and projects is a plus Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in service shops (fork-lifts, hydraulic lifts, etc) Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace Strong organizational skills At Nix Companies, we strive to ensure that our employees work in a safe and enjoyable environment.
