Job DescriptionMaterials Chemist - Internship responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs laboratory operations with good dexterity, good laboratory techniques, and high degree of accuracy and precisionTest new or existing materials to identify prperties and charactersics for the development or improvement of new or exsitng productsDocument testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly and completelyUnderstand and perform calculations as required by test methodsUnderstand and utilize computers for information access, calculations, and report preparationRead and understand analytical procedures (compendial and client supplied) and internal SOPsProcess data, generate reports, and evaluate dataPerform laboratory maintenanceCommunicate with vendors and repair personnelCommitment to occasional overtime as workload requiresThe ideal candidate would possess:

Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

QualificationsBasic Minimum Qualifications:

Working toward a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (At least six months related experience from internship, independent research, or industry laboratoryHands on laboratory experience with sample preparation.
