Materials Coordinator

Materials Coordinator
Position Overview The Materials Coordinator is responsible for tracking, coordinating, and managing materials and equipment across active construction or pipeline projects. This role serves as the central point of contact between procurement, field operations, and project management to ensure materials are available, documented, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Track and manage material requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery schedules
Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and field teams to ensure timely material availability
Maintain accurate material receiving records, inspection reports, and inventory logs
Identify and communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or delays to project leadership
Verify materials meet project specifications, codes, and quality standards
Support material traceability and documentation requirements (MTRs, certs, test reports)
Coordinate laydown yard organization and material staging for field crews
Assist with surplus material tracking and disposition at project closeout
Qualifications
3+ years of materials coordination experience on pipeline, oil & gas, or heavy industrial construction projects
Familiarity with material traceability requirements and MTR documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project management or procurement software a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment
TWIC card preferred; valid driver's license required
