MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER
  • Title 32, WG-6912-7, you will inspect, receive, sort, count, and classify hazardous merials.
Perform pre-receipt examinion of property and assure the turn-in and shipping is in order, the containers meet standards, are placarded and marked properly. Schedule receipt of property and identify contaminants. Reject property not meeting turn-in requirements and assist to correct any rejections. Determine nure and degree of the hazard involved. Determine if containers are Department of Transportion approved, safe to handle, and safe for storage. Determine the need for special handling/special storage of property. Perform complex searches of shipping and storage records, merial specificions, vendor contracts, da for merial identificion. Prepare merial for shipment, storage, and disposition. Pack, cushion, apply preservive and protect property. Prepare tags, labels and places items in containers for disposition. Identify storage locions and stock property allowing for maximum utilizion of storage space, ease of access, segregion, and rotion of stock. Contact genering activities, shipping agencies, and Nional Guard environmental personnel to coordine requirements of environmental policies and directives. Decontamine and replenish spill equipment and supplies. Ensure spill incident reports are prepared IAW applicable regulions. Coordine turn-in activities with the Defense Reutilizion Marketing Office. Verify manifest and shipping papers, DOT markings, packaging, and labeling requirements. Notify the DRMO or Contracting Officer of discrepancies in contractor performance and may recommend changes to service contracts. Perform other duties as assigned. RANK REQUIREMENT

You must maintain membership in the Kentucky Nional Guard. You must be assigned to a compible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
Experience which demonstres the ability to distinguish between closely reled or similar items, ability to follow procedures, ability to sort merials by type, and skill in the use of hand tools.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Must have experience identifying and sorting a variety of complex merials and equipment. Experience receiving merials and equipment, recording, and placing items in proper storage areas. Experience preparing all items for shipment using approprie agency instructions. Experience in mhemical equions. Experience interpreting and using Federal Supply Calogs, military and manufacturing calogs, and technical and agency manuals. Experience using and opering forklifts and motor vehicles.
