Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF JOB SCOPE
Materials Forklift/Heavy Labor Worker is an employee in the production department. This role is member to our production team and is responsible to perform manual labor and forklift usage needed to process with the highest standards of food quality. The employee is required to notify any issues regarding food safety and general safety awareness.Positions:
Materials ForkliftDESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
l. Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP Policies, including Basic Policies (TRN-0101, TRN-102, TRN-103.TRN-104. TRN-105. TRN-1061. 2.
Complete Classic Salads Standard Production Procedures 3. Use proper lifting and folding boxes techniques 4. Report all deficiencies to management. 5. Work overtime and weekends and holidays if necessary. 6. Move product and/or materials manually or using a forklift as required 7. Report all injuries and incidents big or small 8. Demostrate attention to detail 9. Report any foreign objects while performing duties to immediate supervisor. 10. Communicate with management and/or other employees 11. Be concious to reduce material spoilage. 12. Able to work in a cold wet environment 34-36 °F 13. Work/cross train in other areas 14. Properly store materials (cover with plastic, put in proper container etc) 15.Complete daily forkilift inspection 16. Stack and lift boxes continuously as needed 17. Keep work area clean 18. Set up carton machines 19.Certified by Classic Salads to drive a forklift 20. Stay in assigned work area 21 Ability to operate a manual pallet jack 22. Stack and Lift raw and finished product containers/boxes 10-50 lbs ocasionally 23. Team lift garbage cans 10-70 lbs ocasionally 24. Lift empty pallets 45-85 Lbs ocasionally 25. Sort and stack empty totes by color and size. 26. Wrap and palletize finished product 27. Mark cartons and label according to instructions 28. Communicate with data entry employees and machine operators 29. Follow directions regarding product mixes and recipes 30. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection (goggles), face shield, gloves, slip resistant shoes, wet/rain suit, apron etc. 31. Be aware of sorroundings due to forklift traffic 32. Operate Baller machine 33.Use FIFO (first in first out) to keep apropriate material/product rotation. 34. Assign all materials to order. 35. Follow all OSHA requirements for lift trucks.EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience of work in a similar environment preferred. Able to work in a fast pace environment. Ability to work with fast changing priorities and keep up with workflow. Work in a team effort environment. Able to follow simple instructions.
