Position Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the site administrator, provides instructional services to students in assigned areas. Assists with other school programs , as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
  • Appropriate valid California credential or license authorizing service in the grade levels and subject areas assigned. Must meet requirements of all applicable board policies, state and federal laws, including English language learner certification and the No Child Left Behind Act.
  • Bachelor's degree, including all courses to meet credential requirements. A bachelor's degree is not required where a designated subjects (vocational) credential is appropriate for an elective class.
Experience:
student teaching (except in the case of designated subjects credential holders); internship; or full-time teaching experience.
    Personal Qualities:
    Appearance, grooming and personality which establish a desirable example for students. Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health; Ability to:
    • Effectively deliver an instructional program that is aligned with district curricular standards;
    • Establish and maintain a learning environment that advances student learning;
    • Monitor and record student progress in a manner that is understandable to students and parents;
    • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including students, parents and co-workers;
    • Represent and support the district or school in conversations with the public;
