Applicants are alerted that school systems are required to obtain all available criminal offender record information (CORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00) from the criminal history systems board (CHSB) of any current or prospective employee or volunteer of the school department. This is a school year position, appointed by the Principal, which requires a person who can effectively teach Mathematics at the secondary level, in accordance with academic standards associated with the subject to which assigned, and in accordance with school policies, procedures, schedules and negotiated agreements. Teachers report directly to the Elective Department's appointed Team Leader who is responsible to the school's Academic Curriculum Coordinator.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1.Prepare for the delivery of appropriate Mathematics instruction in grades nine through twelve in accordance with department goals and objectives following proven procedures. 2.Deliver organized instruction sequentially following program outlines and accepted pedagogical methods and techniques as appropriate to student learning styles and abilities. 3.Use methods of instruction that are welcoming, motivating and supporting. 4.Create an environment that is conducive to learning. 5.Utilize modern technologies and instructional and research tools. 6.Cooperate with intra and extra department efforts to integrate instruction. 7.Attend curriculum development meetings. 8.Participate in activities that promote the best interest of our students and our school. 9.Engage in professional development programs to keep current with modern pedagogy. 10.Cooperate with department Team Leader in fulfilling the mission of the institution. 11.Maintain decorum and control of assigned students for the purposes of enhancing learning and insuring a safe and healthful environment in the classroom and throughout the school. 12.Perform all duties associated with teaching at the secondary level. 13.Prepare students with the appropriate skills and strategies to successfully master the standards required within the Massachusetts frameworks to reach competency determination 14.The candidate must be able to teach effectively within in-person and remote educational models. 15.The candidate must be able to inspire excellence, achieve consensus and respond effectively to the system's mission with humor and enthusiasm.
Qualifications:

Compensation:
1.Based on credentials, approvals and experience, the successful candidate will be paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School Teachers' Association and the Blackstone Valley Regional School District Committee.
