Mattress Builder Position Job Duties:

Correctly assemble multiple bedding layers including springs, felt, foam and other materials in a safe and consistent manner. Works in a two-person team to pad & cover innerspring assemblies to form mattresses. Attaching layers of insulating materials using a hog ring gun. Attached toppers and panels by spraying hot glue. Adhere to all safety and quality requirements while meeting or exceeding production service levels. Participate in Department safety, quality, and continuous improvement events on an as needed basis. These duties are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties or responsibilities associated with this job. Other duties, as required, may be assigned by the Department Supervisor.

Basic Requirements:

1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Fast-paced plant operations environment.

Preferred Requirements:

Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to safety rules, procedures manual and policy manual. Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Department Supervisor, Lead, Coworkers and other personnel. Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a practical, methodical way while working with a sense of urgency. Able to read and follow a written set of procedures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods, to sit and talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Safety glasses are required PPE. Ability to read and interpret documents, including but not limited to safety rules, procedures manual and policy manual.
