Play key role in using the capability of the VA clinical informion systems to assist practitioners in doing the right things for the right pients the right time. Ensure adeque support to measurably improve the quality of da and the transfer of clinical informion between providers. Ensure valid informion is available to the pients and to their health care practitioner. Coordines the use of electronic health record software packages for the provision of quality clinical care as well as the use of clinical decision support tools to streamline the process of pient care and provide accure da in a timely manner. Ensure the VHA EHR operes in a way th improves pient care, ensures pient safety, and meets the needs of providers through continuous evaluion, testing, and improvement of the system. Evalue clinical computing systems; analyze and evalue the effect of interventions on health outcomes. Evalue, document, analyze, prioritize, and recognize requirements for the improvement of the EHR and other systems in collaborion with the end-user. Coordine informion management support for clinical activities within the medical center by participing collaborively with staff to design, implement, and evalue the clinical informion systems configurion, and the capabilities th used. These activities will include the scholarly endeavors of VAMHCS staff and affilied trainees. Work closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of Informion and Technology (OIT), Biomedical engineering, Medical, Nursing, and other clinical staff. Use communicion, educion, and leadership to support comprehension of and adaption to organizional updes; Leverage project management principles and environmental assessment to drive adoption of change. Cultive and maintain effective relionships with key partners and stakeholders th impact informics from the central office level, through the facility level. Supervise professional and non-professional staff to accomplish the work of the health informics office. Provide fair, principled, decisive leadership to facility staff inspiring a clime of productivity, effectiveness, and high morale. Hear and resolve complaints, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to higher level supervisor.Pay:

Basic Requirements:
United Stes Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a Ste, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United Stes, or in the District of Columbia.Residency Training:
Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certificion. (NOTE:
VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty stus.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accredition Council for Gradue Medical Educion (ACGME), b) OR [(2) Those approved by the American Osteophic Associion (AOA),OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United Stes), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with approprie professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an approprie range of pient care experiences. Residents currently enrolled inACGME/AOA
accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rher, they are to have a "scope of practice" th allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. Proficiency in spoken and written English.Additional requirements:
Service Chief or Line Manager:
A service chief or line manager physician must demonstre the following: (A) Outstanding professional ability in the practice of medicine or a medical specialty; and (B) Ability to guide the development and implemention of programs within their respective domain.
