Job Title:
Mechanic Job Description This role involves a combination of mechanic and upfitting tasks, as well as testing equipment when it arrives at the shop. The primary focus is on building custom fuel trucks, fuel tanks, and bulk systems, specifically for items that carry fuel or propane. The work will not involve engine or transmission repairs but will focus on trucks and trailers, addressing components typically inspected during DOT inspections such as wheel seals, bearings, brakes, and tank testing. In the future, the role may expand to include on-site bulk fueling work and truck testing. Responsibilities Install and maintain propane tanks and related equipment. Install and repair bulk fuel tanks and plants. Rebuild pumps, including LP, NH3, and fuel systems. Perform truck and tank testing, calibration, and repairs. Service and maintain vaporizers. Perform stick welding as needed. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Essential Skills Mechanic experience Weight and measure certification Experience with LP Testing, LPG Testing, VK Testing, and IP Testing FMSCA and Cargo Tank Inspection knowledge Proficiency in Diesel and Hydraulics Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in rebuilding pumps and maintaining fuel systems Ability to work independently and in team environments Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
