Job Description
Davis-Standard is a global leader in the design, development and distribution of extrusion and converting technology. Our systems encompass product lines to support manufacturing applications and customers in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, building & construction, consumer products, medical, and packaging. We have an exciting opportunity for Mechanical Assembly Technicians to join our team. This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to assemble a wide variety of extrusion equipment using both mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Accurate fitting, alignment and adjustment to very close tolerances and strict inspections. Working from engineering specifications, blueprints and general instructions, plans assembly procedures and methods. Test complete products or subassemblies to meet exacting operating requirements. Perform bench and floor assembly or a wide range of complicated mechanical and electrical-electronic control equipment. Uses all types of precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools. Makes suggestions for product improvement. Detect faulty operation, defective material, and refer these and other situations to Supervision. Follows standard safety regulations and maintains good housekeeping in area.Experience & Education:
High School or Technical School Diploma Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Familiarity with at minimum three of the following: mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, piping (including air-pneumatic, water, and hydraulic), use of a variety of hand and power tools, measuring and test instruments and material handling equipment, fabricates and welds parts as required to support production requirements.
