Job Description

Overview Hussey Copper, A Pantheon Electric Company, is seeking a dependable Mechanical Technologist at its Eminence Kentucky facility. The Mechanical Technologist will plan and perform a range of duties to maintain, service, and repair plant machinery, electrical, and facilities, including a normal range of gas and arc welding, flame cutting and fabrication operation. Responsibilities Interpret wiring diagrams, manufacturer's installation or service manuals, blueprints, product drawings, plant layouts, order flow and all commonly used documents in the facility. Install, maintain, and repair equipment and machines as necessary (such as automatic controls and control panels, power or lighting service lines) with necessary fixtures and components to ensure proper operation. Measure, cut, align, thread, and assemble pipe, conduit, PVC (and similar items) for gas, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, and water process systems. Determine and trace cause of malfunctioning or improper equipment. Provide effective service repair and maintenance to electrical and mechanical equipment including rolling mills, furnaces, machine tools, and auxiliary equipment. Perform routine maintenance and service duties such as repair and maintain portable power equipment, pumps, compressors, air and hydraulic devices, and other apparatus. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics for detailed mechanical design work. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles combined with practical experience in fabrication, machining (CNC), welding, soldering, and equipment repair. Expertise in root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively. Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise drafting and quality control. Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions accurately. Experience with project scheduling tools to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial gauges for quality assurance. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards governing pressure vessels, piping systems, or other mechanical components. Capable of performing maintenance activities on complex machinery while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems related to manufacturing equipment.
