Job Title:
Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (Temporary) - Immediately Hiring - Vista, CA Job Description The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician will support a large, highly automated distribution facility by installing, maintaining, and repairing complex material handling and robotic systems. This role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated conveyor systems, mechanical and electrical components, and related industrial equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Responsibilities Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, including automated conveyor systems and related components. Perform quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on high-speed automation and robotic equipment. Complete preventive maintenance routines and accurately document all work performed, including PM sheets and maintenance records. Conduct battery changes and perform preventive maintenance on industrial batteries. Enter downtime data into a daily log and maintain clear, accurate maintenance documentation. Manage and update work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on material handling and automation equipment. Apply basic electrical knowledge to identify and resolve issues with electrical components and controls. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Track, organize, and store departmental inventory, including spare parts and maintenance supplies. Follow and demonstrate established safety standards and procedures while performing all maintenance activities. Collaborate with team members and operations staff to minimize equipment downtime and support production goals. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. At least 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls. At least 2+ years of experience reading and working from blueprints and electrical schematics. At least 2+ years of knowledge and practical experience with electrical and electronic principles. At least 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or similar environment. At least 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on material handling equipment systems. At least 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Industrial maintenance and equipment maintenance experience in a distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial setting. Experience working with automated conveyor systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, schematics, and motors. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing maintenance on complex industrial systems and equipment, including diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and creating work orders. Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments with exposure to high-speed automation and robotics. Experience working with conveyors and other material handling equipment, including controls and robotics. Comfort working in a data-driven environment where performance is measured against clear expectations. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including mechanical and electrical drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Work Environment Work is performed in a large, modern distribution facility that uses high-speed automation and advanced robotic components throughout its material handling operations. The environment is fast-paced and data-driven, with systems in place to track performance and ensure expectations are clear, while avoiding micromanagement. The role is physically active and requires comfort with walking significant distances, including approximately 10,000 steps per day, and handling loads up to 49 pounds at a time. You work around automated conveyor systems, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other industrial equipment, using tools, diagnostic devices, and a CMMS to manage maintenance activities. Positions are available across multiple schedules, and all candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift based on operational needs. The facility maintains a professional industrial setting with appropriate safety practices, equipment, and procedures in place. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vista, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
