Job Description

OTL Behavioral Health is looking for a dedicated and passionate Certified Medical Assistant. We're looking for hard-working, compassionate professionals who share our passion and commitment to serving our community and are looking for growth opportunities. The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. This position is responsible for providing direct support to healthcare professionals, facilitating patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. The Medical Assistant will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks as needed in a psychiatric and behavioral telehealth environment. This position requires an individual who has the ability to work independently as well as in a group, is able to work under pressure, is analytical and has excellent problem-solving skills, has the ability to respect the confidentiality of patient information while performing job duties. This employee will ensure compliance of OTL policies and procedures as well as regulatory agency guidelines to the fullest standard. Responsibilities Answer in bound calls and schedule patients for initial intake and follow ups Collect and document patient medical histories and reasons for visits; prepare patients for mental health appointments using EHR and telehealth systems Educate patients on prescribed procedures, treatments, medications, and provider instructions Accurately enter, track, and follow up on ordered tests; manage lab, pharmacy, and patient call-back communications in a timely manner Maintain thorough, accurate, and compliant documentation of patient visits, demographics, medical records, and insurance information Verify insurance eligibility and secure required referrals, pre-certifications, and prior authorizations in accordance with policy Respond to requests for medical records in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies Collaborate with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and internal/external teams to support coordinated, high-quality patient care Address and resolve patient, provider, and departmental concerns promptly; escalate issues to clinician or leadership as appropriate Knowledge of insurance carrier requirements and general coding procedures Perform additional administrative and clinical duties as assigned Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure accuracy of prescriptions and complete prior authorizations for insurance companies Qualifications Medical Assistant Certification Experience in a medical/specialist practice or clinic Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Experience submitting prior authorizations and scheduling Exceptional communication skills We are pleased to offer: Hybrid schedule after probationary period Competitive Salary/Outstanding earning potential and opportunity for growth 1099 compensation models available
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
License/Certification:
Certified Medical Assistant or Equivalent (CNA, LPN, etc.) (Preferred)
