- Provides outstanding customer service
- Maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security
- Performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor
- Obtain health histories, vital signs, weight, and height
- Performs venipuncture and collection of other lab specimens as ordered by providers (i.e., urinalysis, pregnancy test, glucose hemoglobin)
- Deliver culturally competent care in farmworker and Latino healthcare services
- Assists in preparing patients for examination and drawing blood, etc.
- Handles front office duties, which include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes
- Physical Requirement(s): Occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.
- Responds to Public Health Emergencies Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or High School diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in medical assisting.
- Two years of experience in a paramedical capacity
- Previous employment with any state's Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
- Experience working with pregnant women and with infants
- Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English) A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline .
