Hormones by Design - Medical Assistant Hormones by
Design Bio:
Hormones by Design offers unique customized hormone replacement therapy for women and men via injections. We are a fast-paced cash practice. We are also now part of the Forum Healthcare family of clinics.
Job Summary:
Medical Assistant needed for our Boerne location. Provides exceptional customer service and promotes a professional image and attitude. Needs to be friendly, outgoing, and a multi-tasker (We want you to have fun!). The majority of your work load will be walk in injections.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Medical Assistant (Main Job Duties) Obtains patient vital signs, weight, height & blood pressure. Obtains medical history information as needed. Shows patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the Provider. Records patients' vital signs in EMR (Practice Fusion). Gives injections and medications as prescribed by the provider. Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and Providers' instructions to patients. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and by keeping patient information confidential according to HIPAA & state guidelines. Ensures patient lab results are in their proper chart. May need to take prescription refill messages and manage refill requests. Follows up on patient's phone calls/emails. Receive and handle phone calls as directed by Providers. Notifies patients of lab results after consulting with Provider. Schedules patient follow-up appointments as necessary. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following OSHA standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Disposes of contaminated supplies Answers office phone and assists front desk when needed. Answers patient's questions via phone or in person. Consults with physician/provider on questions as needed Any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Office Manager or Providers.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work performed in an office and clinic setting. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work environment may present exposure to virus, disease, and infection.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Possesses skills and knowledge in the following areas: Must be able to read and write the English language in a legible and understandable manner. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, physicians, insurance companies, suppliers, and personnel. Must be knowledgeable of medical practices and procedures

2 years minimum of Medical Assistant experience
