Capital Women's Care is a 150+ group of OB/GYNs located throughout Greater Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to our OB/GYN physicians and clinical staff who displays empathy and professionalism towards patients. Responsibilities Responsible for verifying patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary. Responsible for collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, giving patients injections and drawing blood. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding electronic and paper medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential. Informs patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Assist with sterilizing equipment / maintain proper working knowledge of the Autoclave. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant Certification required. 2 years of medical assistant experience with at least 1 year of OB/GYN experience. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient care techniques, administering injections, drawing blood, taking vitals and performing basic lab tests. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Customer service skills in handling patient questions and concerns with professionalism, empathy and patience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and problem-solving patient concerns or conflicts. Ability to collaborate in a team environment. Work Schedule Monday - Friday 7:45 am - 4:15pm In-person; Reliable transportation required.
