Job Description

We are a pediatric cardiology practice looking for a skilled and organized Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The candidate needs to be reliable, a self-starter, able to multi-task and customer service oriented with good communication skills. Office hours are M-T, 7:30am-4:00pm, F
  • 7:30am-1pm.
We have two office locations, Schertz is our primary location and New Braunfels is on Wednesdays with travel to this location expected. You will perform a combination of various administrative and clinical tasks. Administrative responsibilities include greeting patients as they arrive, answer phone calls, respond to patient questions, and take messages and respond/send emails, retrieving medical records from outside sources and updating and filing patients' medical records.
Clinical duties include:
Prepare rooms and ensure supplies are ready, preparing patients for examination, confirming purpose of visit, taking patient medical history, recording patient vital signs, MUST
KNOW HOW TO PERFORM EKG'S
; and reporting patient history summary to physician as well as assisting the physician during examinations when necessary. Maintains medical supplies by inventorying stock, ordering more when necessary Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment, and medications Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Salary is negotiable based on experience
