Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across our Urgent Cares. Expertise in blood draw, POCT, and general sports injuries, acute care etc. Administrative tasks will help ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient experiences. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision and professionalism Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, geriatrics, and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) settings Support providers during procedures by handing instruments, managing supplies, and ensuring sterile environments in outpatient clinics or hospital units Administer medications or injections following proper protocols and document all medication administration accurately Perform basic medical assistant tasks Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions using ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for accurate billing and record keeping Support medical administrative functions including appointment scheduling, patient follow-up calls, and managing patient flow efficiently Ensure compliance with safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications and hospital policies Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital environments; experience in Urgent Care setting is highly desirable Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient care Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and data management Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like ICD coding or X-ray tech training are a plus Experience working in face paced office with multitasking abilities Ability to handle multiple priorities with energy and professionalism in fast-paced environments like urgent care or Level I Trauma Centers Excellent communication skills to provide compassionate patient service across diverse populations Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
