Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within diverse clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential support to healthcare providers and ensuring optimal patient experiences. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in handling clinical tasks, managing medical records, and delivering compassionate patient service across outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments. Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure adherence to infection control protocols. Support physicians with procedures, including medication administration, wound care, and basic X-ray operations when qualified. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information and update medical records securely. Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and communication between departments to streamline workflow. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Assist with laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing in compliance with safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions including intake procedures and appointment scheduling. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma centers are advantageous. Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, X-ray assistance, and assisting with surgical or OR procedures when necessary. Strong understanding of medical-surgical practices, internal medicine protocols, and clinic operations within fast-paced environments. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
