Job Description
Missouri Ozarks Community Health is a community health center dedicated to providing quality healthcare to individuals in Ava, Gainesville, Mansfield, Mountain Grove, Cabool, and Houston. Our team has been caring for patients since 1997 and is committed to expanding our services. We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our nursing team. This float position will be based at our Cabool Clinic and work between our Cabool and Houston clinics. The ideal candidate will have a primary focus on performing laboratory testing, analyze results, prepare reports, processing incoming faxes and phone calls, and have the ability to assist providers with routine patient care and various medical procedures as needed. The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience, knowledge of medical procedures, and adherence to strict hygiene standards. We are looking for a motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to work between two clinic locations. We offer the flexibility of choosing between a 4- or 5-day work week and offer a competitive full time benefit package!
Responsibilities:
Perform in-house, CLIA-waived laboratory tests and procedures per protocols. Log all lab testing, review laboratory results when returned from outside labs, check them off as received, and refer all abnormal results to the correct provider. Administer medications to patients per provider order and medication administration protocols. Prepare courier laboratory samples for analysis. Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and logs. Place patients in exam rooms, record vital signs, current complaints, and pertinent history. Assist the medical provider in the treating of patients and performing specialized procedures. Provide patient education, and applicable preventative services. Document all patient contacts, triage patient phone calls for minor health problems and refer complicated illnesses to the medical providers. Maintain confidentiality of all records and patient information. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Assist with outreach activities as directed.Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred. Current Medical Assistant Certificate or registration preferred. One year of relevant phlebotomy experience preferred. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. CPR (BLS) certification preferred. Candidates must pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment can begin.Job Type:
