Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond. We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.Summary:
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmic Assistant at our Broadway location. This benefit-eligible position is full-time Monday through Friday, totaling 32-40 hours per week. Hours are typically Monday-Thursday in clinic and Admin work on Friday's, schedule must be flexible on Fridays for additional clinic days. In this Ophthalmic Assistant role, you will work directly with Dr. Kreidl and Dr. McCormack, board-certified Ophthalmologists who are also certified in diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will assist with patient rooming, eye exams, administering eye drops, managing medications, and supporting surgery scheduling. While this is considered a Medical Assistant (MA) position, it does not involve taking blood pressure or giving injections. Over time, you will also receive cross-training to help cover patient messages and support other physicians as needed.Job Perks:

Day shift work schedules. Experience working within a multi-specialty group practice with both primary and specialty care clinics.Job Duties:
Supports the provider in a variety of patient care duties and performs related clerical duties in accordance with the area assigned Handles surgery scheduling for Ophthalmology providers Rooms patients and records all medical information in the patient's EMR Prepares exam rooms for provider's use, documents all prescribed, OTC medication and drug samples per protocols Maintains equipment and medical supplies Performs administrative/clerical duties such as filing, phone calls, and faxingExperience and Skills:
Skills:
Strong, competent computer skills; good time management and organizational skills.Abilities:
Relate well and communicate with patients, providers, and staff. Able to demonstrate self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision. Able to maintain high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice. Education Requirements (one of the following options) : Completion of Medical Assistant education. •Certification is not required but preferred. Other completed medical training, education, and proof of active certification is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials. (Examples include but are not limited to: EMT, Surgical Tech, CNA, etc.). Military medical training and education with supporting documentation is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials. College graduates with a completed four (4) year bachelor's degree is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials. •College transcripts must reflect completed health science course work. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a clinic setting, preferred The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience: $18.91 - $25.21/hour (full pay range is $18.91 - $28.36) This position will be posted for a minimum of three days, subsequently until filled.
