Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Job Summary :
Dynamic role responsible for performing clinical duties assisting clinicians with the examination and treatment of patients under provider supervision, and administrative office duties with exceptional customer service in the ambulatory service clinical setting. This is a split role, expected to regularly perform and support the functions of the OA and MA duties as assigned, and may also regularly support more than 1 practice location.
Education :
High School diploma required; Associates degree or higher preferred
Registration/Certification/Licensure :
CPR certification required within 30 days of hire Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program and CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA preferred; EMT acceptable; GNA or CNA considered.
Experience :
Phlebotomy and point of care testing experience required. Intermediate computer and typing skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and EHR. Position requires 1-2 years of medical office/direct patient contact and 1-2 years administrative support in a healthcare setting; experiencing using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required.
Other Requirements :
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Must demonstrate compassion, friendliness, courtesy, and tactfulness with all patient and caregiver interactions. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be productive and engaged, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting. Ability to effectively communicate between the provider team, office staff, and administrators, while serving patients and caregivers and effectively engage with extended care teams such as specialists, insurers, and pharmacies. Must be efficient and conscientious in preparing for and delivering medical care. Requires an awareness of patient confidentiality and ability to follow directions well, and work with minimal guidance. Knowledge of insurance billing procedures and familiarization of medical terminology. Demonstrates will and consistency in performing medical and office assistant duties; must be willing to work and travel between multiple CHMG locations as needed.
