Greet incoming visitors and customers professionally and provided friendly, knowledgeable assistance in-person and via telephone. Answer questions and address, resolve or escalate issues to management personnel to satisfy customer. Keep reception area clean and neat to give visitors positive first impression. Interview patients to obtain medical information, weight and height measurements and vital signs. Obtain payments from patients and scan identification and insurance cards. Schedule appointments for doctor visits and procedures. Order all office supplies including ink cartridges, toner and paper. Schedule, reschedule and handle cancelled appointments for patients. Welcome each patient pleasantly and provided desk sheet for sign-in. Obtain information about patient's medical history, drug history, complaints and allergies. Ensure collection of lab specimens by appropriate lab courier. Measure patient pulse oximetry. Perform general office duties, including answering multi-line phones, routing telephone calls or messages to appropriate staff, greeting the public, typing, proofreading, filing, sorting and handling incoming and outgoing mail. Type and compile documents, answer phones and complete paperwork for the office. Aide with prescription refill requests. .• Maintain privacy of patients' information. Adhered to strict HIPAA guidelines at all times to protect patient privacy. Keep patients' appointments on schedule by informing provider of patient's arrival and any delays. Interview patients to obtain medical information, weight and height measurements and vital signs. Obtain information about clients' medical history, drug history, complaints and allergies. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and increase patient cooperation. Perform clerical duties, such as word processing, data entry, answering phones and filing. Assist physicians in follow-through of care. Collect histories, vitals and current compliants via patient interviews. Welcome patients and inquire about well being since last treatment. Escort patients to examination rooms. .File and update patient information and medical records. Prepare billing statements for patients and ensured correct ICD 10 diagnostic coding. Process insurance company denials by auditing patient files, researching procedures and diagnostic codes to determine proper reimbursement. Research and follow up on denied insurance claims. Communicate with insurance providers to ensure any denied claims were resolved and resubmitted. . Obtain referrals from PCPs.for HMO patients. .
