Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient intake procedures, and familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Experience in various clinical settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly valued. The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering quality patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including collection of demographic and insurance information Schedule appointments efficiently using EHR systems and coordinate with medical staff Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with billing inquiries Collect and record vital signs, patient history, and other relevant clinical information during intake and drawing blood Prepare patient charts and documentation for provider review, including ICD coding when necessary Assist with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, basic physiology assessments, and medication administration support under supervision Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, procedures performed, and follow-up instructions Support clinical staff with tasks related to inpatient, outpatient, or emergency medicine settings including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center experience if applicable Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies related to patient confidentiality and safety standards Experience Prior experience in medical administrative support or front desk roles within healthcare settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics is preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and basic life support (BLS) certifications are advantageous • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical record management tools is essential Previous exposure to inpatient or outpatient care workflows enhances effectiveness in this role Strong communication skills combined with the ability to handle sensitive patient information professionally are required
