Medical Biller and Coder

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and collections for medical services provided. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding practices, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate timely payments and resolve any billing discrepancies. Responsibilities Review and process patient medical records to ensure accurate billing information. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding (ICD-9, ICD-10). Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process. Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in billing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding and regulations. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding medical billing practices. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to their bills or insurance claims. Collaborate with the medical office team to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency. Experience Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical records management. Knowledge of various coding systems including ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG is essential. Previous experience in a medical office setting is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
