Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes for billing purposes Prepare and submit claims accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to insurance companies and government agencies Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through effective medical collection strategies Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies Maintain detailed and organized medical records, including documentation of coding decisions and billing transactions Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for precise coding Stay current with updates in medical terminology, coding standards, and billing practices to optimize reimbursement processes Skills Strong knowledge of

ICD-10, CPT
