Medical Billing & Collections Specialist DMEPOS

VIP Durable Medical Equipment is a rapidly growing Durable Medical Equipment (DMEPOS) provider headquartered in Clovis, California. We proudly serve patients, hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, case managers, and referral partners throughout the Central Valley and surrounding communities. Work Environment Modern office setting Fast-paced healthcare environment Casual work attire Collaborative and supportive team Growth and advancement opportunities Performance-driven culture Hands-on operational involvement Position Responsibilities Review medical documentation for billing accuracy and completeness Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Process and submit claims to Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial insurance payers Work aging accounts receivable and insurance follow-up Investigate and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid claims Review EOBs, remittances, and claim status responses Communicate with insurance companies, referral sources, physicians, and healthcare providers to obtain required documentation Maintain accurate documentation and financial notes within Brightree Perform Medicare Same & Similar checks when applicable Monitor payer requirements, authorization needs, and documentation compliance Assist with intake workflow, order tracking, and operational follow-up as needed Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards at all times Preferred Experience & Qualifications Experience in medical billing, healthcare collections, or DMEPOS billing preferred Strong understanding of Medicare and Medi-Cal billing guidelines Experience working denied claims, aging AR, and insurance follow-up Familiarity with HCPCS codes, medical terminology, and payer billing requirements Experience using: Brightree Noridian Medicare Portal Office Ally Inovalon Availity Other insurance payer portals Familiarity with eligibility verification and authorization workflows Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications DMEPOS billing experience strongly preferred Experience with Medicare Same & Similar reviews Knowledge of Medi-Cal secondary billing workflows Understanding of medical necessity documentation requirements CPC, CCS, or other medical billing certifications are a plus but not required Compensation & Growth Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
