In this role, you will handle the complete cycle of medical billing, ensuring claims are correctly prepared, submitted, and followed up on to maximize reimbursement. Your expertise will directly impact the financial health of our practice while providing outstanding service to our patients and providers. Duties Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic billing systems, ensuring compliance with all coding and documentation standards. Review patient accounts for completeness and accuracy before claim submission, resolving any discrepancies promptly. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies to clarify issues and resubmit claims as needed. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to facilitate smooth billing processes. Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, including claim submissions, payments received, and correspondence with payers. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation supports billing accuracy and compliance. Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations, coding updates, and payer policies to ensure ongoing compliance. Experience Proven experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical coding systems such as ICD (International Classification of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System). Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex information accurately. Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy standards.
