Job Description

Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduler Position Summary:
We offer a 4-10 hour shift M-F day schedule. The Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduler will greet patients and visitors over the phone and in-person, optimize provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling, and serve as the primary point of entry for everyone entering the practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of entry for all patients and visitors of the practice, greeting others in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Respond to patient and physician requests, such as medical records, filing, Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls in a friendly manner to set the tone for the patient's encounter and the expectations for the office. o Schedule patient appointments appropriately to ensure smooth flow and cadence of the day and to decrease patient wait times. Ensure all requests are handled in a timely manner. Provide administrative support by assisting with the scanning, filing, and preparation of patient charts and records, telephone scheduling, mail/mail processing and other front/back-office functions as appropriate and necessary to practice operations. Follow proper opening/closing procedures as designated by the specific practice. Collect, enter, and maintain all patient demographic and insurance/payer information in an accurate and detailed manner. o Respond accurately and promptly to all request to verify, correct, or update such information as required by the practice, Avina Women's Care, and insurance/payers as appropriate. Strive to meet all practice and Avina Women's Care standards and policies for the collection of such payments and balances. Record all payment and service billing information accurately following all practice and Avina Women's Care policies regarding cash control, daily balancing, charges, and payment postings. Maintain professional and positive attitude and appearance at all times. Display active commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Avina Women's Care. All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and work closely with a wide variety of employees and patients. Basic office skills such as typing, filing, and phone etiquette. Verbal and non-verbal communication skills to communicate with staff, patients, physicians, and visitors.
Physical Demands:
May require sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must have good vision and hearing perception to view computer screens and discern telephone rings and conversations. Frequent bending, standing, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Able to move quickly to respond to patient and physician requests.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years medical reception preferred.
