Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves performing complex laboratory tests, analyzing clinical specimens, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and advanced laboratory techniques. They will play a vital role in supporting clinical diagnoses, research initiatives, and patient care by delivering precise laboratory data in a timely manner. Responsibilities Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests including immunoassays, ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and blood banking procedures. Manage specimen collection and processing with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols. Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation such as laboratory information management systems (LIMS), centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and flow cytometers. Analyze data generated from assays and experiments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with quality standards. Document all procedures meticulously and prepare detailed reports for clinical trials or research projects. Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Maintain laboratory inventory, calibrate equipment regularly, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Support laboratory management activities including quality control, inventory management, and adherence to regulatory standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret results within the context of physiology knowledge and clinical information. Assist in training new staff or interns on laboratory techniques such as specimen handling, blood banking procedures, and laboratory safety protocols. Skills Extensive experience with clinical laboratory procedures including blood sampling, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen processing. Proficiency in molecular techniques such as
PCR, RNA
extraction, DNA isolation, and immunoassays like ELISA. Strong data management skills along with expertise in data analysis tools relevant to laboratory research. Knowledge of laboratory management systems (LIMS) for sample tracking and data recording. Familiarity with physiology concepts related to blood circulation, anatomy knowledge, vital signs measurement, and blood banking processes. Ability to perform complex assays accurately while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent understanding of medical terminology relevant to clinical laboratories. Experience working within hospital settings or clinical laboratories is highly desirable. Competence in maintaining high standards of laboratory safety and quality assurance practices. Effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly to healthcare professionals or research teams.
