Medical Laboratory Technologist 1, 2 or 3

Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist 1-3 to join our team! We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services, including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The incumbent in this position will perform a wide variety of clinical diagnostic tests with emphasis on recognizing and resolving problems and requiring the application of interpretive judgment at LSU Health-Lallie Kemp Medical Center. This position will be required to work various shifts, weekends and holidays. Possession of a current Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist license plus one of the following: A bachelor's degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science; OR A bachelor's degree in a biological, physical, or chemical science plus one year of experience as a medical technologist. Job Duties:

Performs CAP inspections as required for Accreditation. Maintains Lead Tech duties in the absence of Department Supervisors at Lallie Kemp and helps phlebotomists, techs, and all staff with any questions. Monitors and reviews all operations on Molecular Testing on the Cepheid analyzer, including maintenance, quality control, writing policies, and re-stocking of supplies. Notifying manager of any needs. Maintain preventive maintenance and trouble-shoots all equipment used when malfunctions occur. Perform routine and advanced diagnostic laboratory tests in the following areas: Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Bacteriology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Parasitology, and Serology. Perform testing without direct supervision. Responsible for working all shifts. Perform laboratory test on patients of all ages. In the absence of supervisor, assume duties. Any and all other related duties as assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage for other staff.

Work Hours:

Shift will be determined by the department Manager.

Shift Differentials:

In addition to Base Pay, Shift Pay and Certification pay is included only when working. The incumbent shall possess and maintain a valid BLS certification from American Heart Association before appointment .
