Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will ensure smooth front desk operations, manage patient interactions with professionalism, and support the overall efficiency of our medical practice. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment while verifying insurance eligibility and administrative workflows. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through exceptional administrative support. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in processes Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as CareLogic Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing procedures including collecting co-pays and past due balances Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for completeness, and updating patient information in various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Assist with medical intake procedures, including collecting patient information, updating care plans, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Support office management tasks such as appointment reminders, documentation review, and coordinating with clinical staff to optimize clinic flow (to include other duties as assigned) Skills Preferred experience in a medical office setting but not required Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology is a plus Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (including 10 key typing) Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification efficiently Prior mental health experience is preferred; familiarity with a diverse healthcare environment enhances your ability to adapt quickly Knowledge of health information management practices including documentation review and medical records management Embark on a rewarding career supporting healthcare professionals while making a positive impact on patients' experiences.
