Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures. As a Medical Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing appointment scheduling, patient records, and insurance verification. Your role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice and delivering a positive patient experience. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment at the front desk. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Intergy. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to facilitate accurate billing processes. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting co-pays and updating demographic information. Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation review standards. Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and excellent phone etiquette. Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to ensure efficient clinic operations. Requirements Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred, especially with clinic experience or dental office experience. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Intergy is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software. Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with confidentiality and professionalism. Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional customer service skills combined with strong phone etiquette and clerical experience in an office setting. Organizational skills necessary for managing appointments, medical records, insurance verification, and documentation review efficiently.
