Job Description

Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires familiarity with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and strong communication skills to ensure smooth clinic operations and accurate documentation. This is currently a half-time position but will eventually become full-time as the business grows. Duties Greet patients warmly and handle check-in/check-out procedures using audiology specific EMR system. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes. Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software. Collect payments and perform medical collections in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries professionally, and maintain excellent phone etiquette. Review and update patient records, ensuring compliance with health information management standards. Assist with documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing procedures. Maintain organized electronic filing of medical records and manage office supplies inventory. Support front desk operations including patient intake, data entry, and appointment confirmations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards at all times. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and communication purposes. Clean and check hearing aids as needed. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic environment is preferred. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management practices. Excellent clerical skills including typing, copying, scanning and data entry. Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional phone presence and courteous demeanor.
